The Stiddy is a typical ‘village – pub’ is ideally located for many exiting things to do on the coast and in the North York Moors National Park.

North Bay Railway Scarborough

North Bay Railway is a miniature railway in Scarborough, North Yorkshire, England. It was built in 1931, to the gauge of 20 in, and runs for approximately ⁷⁄₈ mile between Peasholm Park and Scalby Mills in the North Bay area of the town. Open all year with all day return tickets and the smallest pub in Yorkshire and access to the Skytrail, historic water chute and water balls.

Whitby

Whitby is only a twenty minute drive from the Stiddy. The town is split by the split by the River Esk and spanned by the famous swing bridge. On the East Cliff, overlooking the North Sea, the ruined Gothic Whitby Abbey was Bram Stoker’s inspiration for “Dracula”. Nearby is the Church of St. Mary, reached by 199 steps.

Whitby Abbey

Whitby Abbey was a 7th-century Christian monastery that later became a Benedictine abbey. The abbey church was situated overlooking the North Sea on the East Cliff above Whitby in North Yorkshire, England, a centre of the medieval Northumbrian kingdom and up the 199 steps.

North Yorkshire Moors Railway

The North Yorkshire Moors Railway is a heritage railway in North Yorkshire, running through the North York Moors National Park. One end of the line terminates at Whitby station only twenty minutes from the Stiddy. For a fantastic live steam experience to Heartbeat country a ride on this line is a must.

Scarborough Open Air Theatre

The Scarborough Open Air Theatre is an outdoor theatre in Scarborough, North Yorkshire, England. It was built in Northstead Manor Gardens in 1932, and has recently undergone a major refurbishment and is now the largest open air theatre in Europe. Some of the largest acts in the world regularly visit this unique attraction.

Accommodation

The Stiddy offers two rooms for our accommodation. Both rooms are ensuite with the larger room being used as a family room as it has a single bed and bunk beds also in the room. Both rooms are on the first floor accessed by stairs.

Food and Drink

The Stiddy serves excellent home cooked meals and Sunday roasts. Vegetarians and special diests can be catered for also. We also offer real ales in our bar and regular entertainment. The Stiddy is a typical ‘village – pub’ with a warm and pleasent atmosphere.

Camping and Pods

The Stiddy is located directly next to and 100 metres from Lythe Caravan, Camping & Pod site. Situated 3.5 miles North of Whitby on the A174. Large pitch site & situated 100 metres behind The Stiddy Public House. The Entrance to the site is situated next door to the Fire Station.
